What to expect from my Hatha Yoga classes

My style of yoga is slow but powerful, I really encourage everyone to focus on working with their breath and within their own bodys’ abilities.  There are many different options within yoga that can help everyone enjoy their practice.  I really encourage my students to find their limits and to play with their edges.

I have a light hearted and open approach to teaching. When you come to one of my classes you will feel a sense of community and no judgement.  If you are curious about yoga and have never been to a class or have practiced the stronger style of yoga in the past but would like to take it down a step or two then my classes would be a wonderful fit for you.

When you come to one of my Hatha classes you can expect to start with some breath work.  I always like to help students to bring themselves into the present moment and not worry about the past or think about the future.  We then start off slow, warming up our bodys ready for the practice.  We gradually build up the heat within our bodies moving through various different poses, playing with our abilities and learning how to make the poses our own.  It is so important to understand that yoga is not what the poses look like, but what they feel like within your body.  Every person is made differently, we are all unique and have had our own journeys through life.  We then slow down our practice and finish with Savasana which allows us time to scan our bodies.

What do you need to bring/wear?

What to Wear

Wear something comfortable, a pair of leggings or jogging bottoms – something that you can move freely in which wont dig in at the waist.

What to bring

A yoga mat and a blanket.  The blanket can be useful for placing under your knees when we are practicing kneeling postures and also for covering yourself in savasana at the end of class.

Bottle of water – it is important to keep hydrated, we rarely drink as much as we should.

You are also welcome to bring your own bricks and a strap, although these are provided if required.

What is the process for booking?

The Chandlers Ford venue holds a maximum of 12 students, therefore you do need to book in advance to ensure that there is space available for you.

Before your first class please complete the New Student Registration Form. When I have received this I will set you up on my booking system (Bookyway) and send you information on how to use the system (it’s really easy) and how to purchase credits.

Upon receipt of payment I will add credits to your account so that you can book yourself onto classes.

Going forwards you just top up your credits by sending me payment by direct bank transfer.
